BLOOD CLOT AND TYPES
Blood clot is a clump of blood that has changed from a liquid to a gel-like or semi-solid state.
TYPES OF BLOOD CLOTS
* ARTERIAL CLOTS: Form in arteries, which carry oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the body.
* VENOUS CLOTS: Develop in veins, which return oxygen-depleted blood to the heart.
* DISSEMINATED INTRAVASCULAR COAGULATION: A rare but severe condition where clots form throughout the body’s small blood vessels.
THROMBOCYTOPENIC PURPURA: Clots form in small blood vessels, reducing blood flow to organs.
