CAUSES OF PANIC ATTACK

2. ANXIETY DISORDERS: People with generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, or panic disorder are more prone to panic attacks.
3. GENETICS: A family history of anxiety, depression, or panic disorders can increase the risk.
4. BRAIN CHEMISTRY: Imbalances in neurotransmitters like serotonin and norepinephrine can play a role.
5. MEDICAL CONDITIONS: Heart problems, thyroid issues (especially hyperthyroidism), respiratory disorders (like asthma), or vertigo can cause similar symptoms and even trigger panic attacks.
6. SUBSTANCE USE: Caffeine, alcohol, nicotine, and drugs (especially stimulants or withdrawal from certain medications) can trigger panic attacks.
7. TRAUMA: Past trauma, abuse, or a frightening experience can lead to panic attacks, sometimes years after the event.
