El-Rufai Accuses Nigerian Judiciary of Corruption and Bias

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has publicly condemned widespread corruption and bias within the Nigerian judiciary. Speaking at the Nigerian Bar Association’s Bwari Branch Law Week in Abuja, El-Rufai highlighted concerns over delayed justice, procedural inefficiencies, and the perceived influence of external forces on judicial decisions.

He criticized the increased use of ex parte orders in political cases and accused some lawyers of exploiting the system for partisan advantage. El-Rufai argued that justice in Nigeria appears reserved for the wealthy and powerful, with courts serving the interests of the executive rather than upholding true justice.

Calling for urgent reform, he urged legal practitioners to reflect on their responsibilities and renew their commitment to fairness and integrity in the justice system.
