MOSQUITO BITE PREVENTION TIPS
_ USE MOSQUITO REPELLENTS
Apply insect repellents containing DEET, picaridin, IR3535, or oil of lemon eucalyptus (OLE).
For children, choose repellents with lower concentrations of DEET (10–30%).
_ WEAR PROTECTIVE CLOTHING
Wear long sleeves, pants, and socks, especially in mosquito-prone areas.
Opt for light-colored clothing, as mosquitoes are attracted to dark colors.
_ ELIMINATE STANDING WATER (Mosquitoes Lay Eggs in Stagnant Water)
Empty or clean items that collect water, like flower pots, buckets, tires, and birdbaths.
Clean gutters to prevent water buildup.
Cover or drain pools and water containers when not in use.
_ USE PHYSICAL BARRIERS
Install window and door screens to keep mosquitoes out.
Sleep under mosquito nets, especially in high-risk areas.
Use air conditioning or fans—mosquitoes dislike strong air currents.
_ USE NATURAL MOSQUITO REPELLENTS (For mild protection)
Citronella candles or essential oils (lemongrass, eucalyptus, lavender) can help repel mosquitoes.
Plant mosquito-repelling plants like basil, marigold, and peppermint around your home.
_ BE AWARE OF PEAK MOSQUITO ACTIVITY
Mosquitoes are most active at dawn and dusk, so limit outdoor activities during these times.
If outside, stay in well-lit and breezy areas, as mosquitoes prefer dark, humid environments.
