Pastor Adeboye Reveals Divine Warning Not to Leave RCCG

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), recently shared a powerful personal testimony during the June Holy Ghost Service titled “Destined for Greatness (Part 2)” at Redemption City, Ogun State.

Speaking on divine direction and spiritual commitment, Adeboye revealed that God once warned him never to leave RCCG—or risk the life of his firstborn. Reflecting on his early days as a born-again Christian, he recalled the allure of other prominent ministries but said God made it clear that his place was within RCCG.

“At the time, RCCG was relatively unknown, and I was a university lecturer serving under a spiritual leader with no formal education,” he said. “But God told me, ‘I brought you here. If you ever leave, your firstborn will die.’”

He addressed young Christians who frequently switch churches, urging them to seek God’s guidance and remain where He places them, rather than following popular trends.

Pastor Adeboye clarified that his message was not meant to elevate RCCG above other denominations but to emphasize the importance of divine instruction and steadfastness in one’s faith journey.
