SYMPTOMS OF BLOOD CLOTS
_ DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS – Clot in a Deep Vein (Usually in the Leg or Arm)
-Swelling in one leg or arm (rarely both).
-Pain or tenderness, often starting in the calf or thigh.
-Warmth in the affected area.
-Reddish or bluish discoloration of the skin.
-Leg cramps, especially at night.
_ PULMONARY EMBOLISM – Clot in the Lungs
-Sudden shortness of breath (even while resting).
-Sharp chest pain that worsens with deep breaths.
-Rapid heartbeat or irregular heart rhythm.
-Coughing up blood.
-Dizziness or fainting.
_ ARTERIAL THROMBOSIS – Clot in an Artery (Heart, Brain, Limbs)
-Heart (Heart Attack): Chest pain, Pain radiating to the left arm, jaw, or back, Shortness of breath, Cold sweats and nausea.
-Brain (Stroke): Sudden weakness or numbness on one side of the body. Difficulty speaking or understanding speech and Severe headache.
-Limbs (Peripheral Arterial Disease :Severe pain in the legs or arms. Pale, cold, or blue-colored skin. Weak pulse in the affected limb.
_ SUPERFICIAL THROMBOPHLEBITIS– Clot in a Surface Vein
-Hard, red, and warm lump under the skin.
-Tenderness and swelling around the vein.
-Mild fever in some cases.
_ DISSEMINATED INTRAVASCULAR COAGULATION – Multiple Clots Throughout the Body
-Excessive bleeding (from gums, nose, or wounds).
-Bruising easily.
-Sudden drop in blood pressure.
-Organ failure in severe cases.
