Eating nutritious and healthy meals is very important and also very possible on a tight budget with little know-how and planning.

By following these tips, you may be able to achieve so much on your budget:

1. PLAN YOUR MEALS: Drawing meals time table and planning ahead will help you think about the food that are right for you and how you can incorporate healthy alternatives based on your budget.

2. SHOP WITH A LIST: Once you have your meal plan, create a shopping list with the ingredients you need, that way, you're sure to reduce impulse buying and only buy items that you need.

3. USE RECIPES WITH SIMILAR INGREDIENTS: Using recipes with similar ingredients for different meals can be quite creative and help you avoid wastage.

4. BUY IN BULK: Buying your items in bulk is a great way to save on your grocery bills especially if you already have a shopping list

5. GROW YOUR OWN VEGETABLES: Vegetables like spinach, spring onions, basil, bitter leaves and even peppers can be grown in pots in case of limited space.

6. REDUCE FOOD WASTAGE: By transforming leftover food into other delicacies; left over stews can be used to cook jollof rice or beans.
