TOOTH BRUSHING TIPS FOR KIDS
_ START EARLY
-Begin brushing as soon as the first tooth appears using a soft baby toothbrush and a smear of fluoride toothpaste.
_ USE THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF TOOTHPASTE
-Under age 3: A rice-sized amount.
-Ages 3 and up: A pea-sized amount.
_ BRUSH TWICE A DAY
-Once in the morning and once before bed for at least 2 minutes each time.
_ SUPERVISE BRUSHING
-Help or supervise brushing until your child is around 7-8 years old to ensure they brush properly.
_ MAKE IT FUN
-Use a colorful toothbrush, play a favorite song, use a brushing app, or turn it into a game to keep kids engaged.
_ BRUSH ALL SURFACES
-Teach kids to brush the front, back, and chewing surfaces of every tooth.
_ DON’T FORGET THE TONGUE
-Gently brush the tongue to help remove bacteria and keep breath fresh.
_ REPLACE TOOTHBRUSH REGULARLY
-Every 3 months or sooner if bristles are frayed.
