* Most UTIs are caused by bacteria, such as E. coli.
* Sex can push bacteria into the urethra.
* Not wiping properly after using the bathroom or not urinating after sex.
* Certain medical conditions, such as diabetes or kidney stones.
* Hormonal changes during pregnancy or menopause.
