WHAT DEFICIENCY CAUSES DARK CIRCLES?
* IRON DEFICIENCY (Anemia): Most common cause among deficiencies. Lack of iron leads to poor oxygenation of tissues, including under-eye skin, making it look darker or more sunken.
* VITAMIN B12 DEFICIENCY: B12 helps with red blood cell production and proper blood circulation. Deficiency can cause darkening or dullness under the eyes. Often associated with vegetarian/vegan diets.
* VITAMIN K DEFICIENCY: Vitamin K helps with blood clotting and circulation. Poor circulation can cause blood to pool under the eyes, resulting in dark circles.
* VITAMIN C DEFICIENCY: Vitamin C is essential for collagen production. Weak skin under the eyes may make blood vessels more visible.
* VITAMIN E DEFICIENCY: Affects skin health and elasticity. May contribute to dark, saggy under-eye appearance.
* DEHYDRATION AND ELECTROLYTE IMBALANCE: Not a vitamin or mineral per se, but often associated with nutrient-poor diets. Dehydrated skin appears sunken and shadowed.
