Seme Customs seize truckload of beans for illegal export

Operatives of the Nigeria Customs Service in Seme Area Command have intercepted and seized a truckload of beans suspected to be for illegal export.

This was made known in a video shared on the Customs X handle on Friday, march 8.

The Customs Area Comptroller, Timi Bomodi, revealed that 400 sacks of beans with a duty paid value of N61.4m was found in the truck.

Bomodi said: “These were stockpiled at a warehouse very close to the border and attempts were already been made to move these beans across into the Benin Republic.”
