Millets are a highly varied group of small-seeded grasses, widely grown around the world as cereal crops or grains for fodder and human food. 

HEALTH BENEFITS OF MILLETS

1. All millets are gluten-free and recommended for celiac patients. Celiac disease is a digestive disorder that damages the small intestine, triggered by eating food containing gluten. 

2. Due to a low glycemic index, Millets control diabetes. Millets have a low glycemic index, that means it raises the blood sugar slowly in the body instead of rising quickly as in case of rice.

3. It helps in decreasing obesity/weight loss. Dietary fibre helps in the retardation of carbohydrates absorption and impaired glucose tolerance. It helps in increasing the transit time of food in the gut.
